About us

History

Constructed in the 1930s, the main building is one of the landmarks of the small town of Joutseno. Over its long history, the building has served as a guesthouse several times; and it has housed various other enterprises, such as a local store and a café, to name a few.

Our guesthouse was established in the building in 1994. Most of our support comes from a non-profit foundation maintained by a faithful community of donors. For almost forty years, the related grassroots association has been providing aid in Finland and abroad, all on a voluntary basis. Among recipients of help have been orphans, as well as others struggling in the midst of life's various challenges. That’s why our motto is: “Every person is unique.”
